He doesn't imply it, he flat out says that he'll use it if that's what it'll take to end the battle. And it will; an entire moon full of angry S'pht'Kr just showed up, and Tycho is not going to win this without the trih xeem. And if the SO stayed around, he'd find himself in a losing battle on the wrong side of the S'pht'Kr. Not only is this timeline doomed, but it's going to hurt. Time to leave.

(Then, the dream sequence that follows is all about running away from angry S'pht'Kr. Coincidence?)

The thing is, I might agree with you about the other two jumps to the Electric Sheep levels (especially the last one), but this one seems about as cut and dry as you can get in this game.
