I don't remember any specific reference in Marathon to the Pfhor using the trih xeem on the Drinniol.
There is a mention of them using it on the Nakh, of course, which is where Phil's "at least six thousand" comes from: the had it 6kya during the Nakh revolt, and who knows how long they had it before them.
There is a mention in M2 of the Drinniol revolt being the worst in Pfhor history, which would thus make it worse than the Nakh revolt, but since the S'pht revolt is said to be the worse since the Nakh revolt, that also means that the Drinniol revolt had to have been before the Nakh revolt.
I use that as the premise of Eternal's chapter 4, and made up a date for it that's around twice as long ago (10kya), and so far as I can recall I made up the plot point about that same abandoned Jjaro installation where the Drinniol revolt began being the place where the Pfhor discovered (and first used) the trih xeem. (NB that in Eternal the trih xeem is not really used in that revolt besides on the site where it began, because it's only just barely been discovered).
That incident with the Drinniol and the cybernetic junction is canonically the latest time that the Pfhor could have adopted the trih xeem, since they're said to have adopted a policy of destroying Jjaro technology after that event. So canonically either they discovered it then (as in Eternal) or some time before then (which is entirely possible).
