In Response To: not to pop your bubble... (MrHen) : I'm going ahead and correcting this to: Marathon: we're still playing a port
I play the original Marathon nearly every week. : Halo: People are now playing the sequel which would be akin to Marathon 2.
Still Marathon in my opinion. : Granted, I totally agree with you that the Marathon series beats the Halo
True. Sadly. : One thing I'm personally disappointed in as I'm playing through Halo: CE is
Nothing close to perfect. Halo doesn't even touch perfect. Anyway, in regards to the original topic. I think you'd have to consider the canonicity of the Halo books, first off. Can they really qualify for total canon? Anybody ever seen Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda? That show is to Star Trek what Halo is to Marathon. It holds a lot of similar creative synthesis in its creation, and it's done by the same people/person/whatever, but it you can never ever say that Halo and Marathon's connection is absolute and entirely purposefuly linear. |
