In Response To: Re: uh... (Steve Levinson) The tru7h is Marathon is no Halo. You know it, I know it. And I am not referring to the obvious differences between the two games, but to their soul. Marathon: we'se still here playing, debating, dreaming. Halo: already forgotten. What Halo misses, tho being a great console game, is the poetic vision and the incredible depth involved in the storyline, which is exactly the reason why we're still here posting about an imaginary cyborg in an imaginary world we call "The Marathon Universe". They tried to create the same depth for Halo, but at the end of the day it is clearly a make up, while Marathon didn't need any books or novels, having the whole thing resumed in a few lines of the manual, remember? It was just... spontaneous for us to go on, deep, and try to gather more info, trying to understand more. At least, as far as I'm concerned, I believe Marathon is so much superior to Halo (of course I am not referring to any technical detail) that I begin being a little annoyed by the comparison between the two.
