You're really surprised that you got an angry response to posting something negative about the game this entire forum is based around?
You've gotten an answer to your original question, so this thread has served its purpose. I'd suggest everyone calm down and remember that people are entitled to their opinions (and remember that old maxim about arguing over the Internet).
(Food for thought: There are people out there who feel that the very graphical sophistication you apparently can't live without is precisely what ruined modern gaming, and that no modern game with complex graphics (even graphics at Marathon's level) will ever be as good as one with simple 2D sprites.)
