One more thing: weapon shelves | |

In Response To: Halo 4 complaint (sort of): weapons (Jabberwok) I agree with everything in this post, although I'd add that the assortment of precision-type and machine gun-type weapons makes multiplayer more interesting than Reach (where the DMR was clearly the best gun for every situation and nobody bothered picking anything else up). At least in Halo 4 I'm fighting carbine guys and BR guys in addition to DMR guys. :p Related to the Forerunner tech issue, the Promethean weapon shelves have bothered me since my first playthrough. I know they serve a useful purpose in gameplay, but it still seems out of character for these guys to stack their guns up in a locker instead of downloading them from the Domain or something. What I'd do is have Forerunner weapon shelves appear as holographic symbols along walls. When you get close to them (or maybe with a press of X) they'd materialize into guns hovering on mini anti-grav platforms. With experience you'd learn which holosymbols indicated which weapon type. Same gameplay function, but more in keeping with the "beacause we can" nature of other Forerunner structures.
