Do you remember the way a frag would scatter a group of : unshielded enemies and a sticky was instant death to a stuck elite? : Successive games have progressively eroded the fun from campaign play. My two favorite campaigns were Halo 1 and ODST, neither of which included formal PvP multi-player. That's one commonality - another is that neither included DMRs or Battle Rifles. I understand why DMRs and BRs are so crucial to PvP multi-player (determinism!), but I'm convinced they reduce fun by making Campaign more clinical, surgical, and sterile. Same goes with grenades and other weapons that might be ridiculous fun but wreck MP balance. As long as they attempt to keep the two worlds (SP, MP) directly related, both will suffer.
