On the matter of jarring : discontinuities, did you ever notice how 343 fouled up vehicle and Shade : dismounts in CEA? Instead of the camera transitioning smoothly to the : first-person view like in H1, it crudely snaps to it. I always wondered : what the story was with that change. I never noticed it. I'm not sure if I ever did a complete playthrough with the updated graphics. I prefer the original graphics. I hate dying because some developer wanted to impress me with his nifty boarding animations. This was one instance were I would even prefer that the NPCs teleport directly into the vehicle. Yes it's unrealistic but it's less frustrating than multiple death/respawn cycles. There are many aspects of campaign vehicle use that I consider are broken in that they severely impact/degrade the fun you have whilst playing the game. Some are so bad that they are worse than not fun. They are anti-fun? un-fun? painful? If we used integers to measure their fun magnitude then we would have to use -ve numbers instead of just small integers You know what i mean :-) I was going to present a list of vehicle related broken things here but I am going to do this in a separate post as I think they are important enough to highlight in their own thread.
