In Response To: My H4 review - Multiplayer (Avateur) Interesting read. Opinions are an infinite gradient. Regarding Ordnance - I like it, and don't really mind the randomness. I acknowledge that it has the potential to madden, but I view it as playing the cards you are given. Yes, sometimes I get smoked by a binary rifle while looking for someone to stick with my pulse grenades, but sometimes I get the boon. Regarding Maps - I largely agree with you. I play Big Team almost exclusively...Ragnarok is great, Longbow is pretty good, and Exile is OK. Don't really enjoy the rest. The good ones (i.e. Ragnarok) have battles going on all over, at all different times. The others seem to devolve into fighting in one specific area (i.e. the base platform on LongBow, or the center base in Vortex(?)). I hate Meltdown with every fiber of my being. I know there is an impulse to create everything from scratch, but I wish they would consider a different ratio - 50% remakes + 50% new or something. Why re-invent the wheel every 3 years? Regarding KillCam - I stopped playing Slayer early - it just seemed really random or something. The KillCam did nothing to change that opinion. I realize it's probably just glitched, but still. Regarding Boltshot - not really an issue in Big Team. I'm glad I missed out on that frustration. Regarding Teamwork Support - I wonder if this is just fallout from all of the backlash regarding griefing and generally horrible behavior that flooded mics at the onset of large online multiplayer gaming. My earliest days of H3 had frequent attempts at coordination, teamwork, etc. That was slowly eroded by the worst of humanity. Eventually, my conclusion was that the benefits were not worth the cost. Judging from the lack of mics (or abundance of private parties) this same conclusion was probably reached by an exceeding large portion of the gaming community. Not everyone! But many. Most? Blame the community for this one, I think. Regarding Pulse Grenades - What in the hell? Regarding Vehicles - Thank you 343i for tempering their power. More balanced, I think. Only artists can roll for long periods of time. Regarding Expectations - After exiting Reach about 2 months in, I realized that Halo (the games) did not occupy the center of my gaming universe. This community is near-and-dear to my heart, but the games are just games. I enjoyed H4 mulitplayer because it didn't have to be the greatest thing ever - it just had to be fun. And it was! But so was Transformers, FoC. And so will be Borderlands 2 next month. I say "was" because after I reached level 50, I just...stopped. I might slide back into it but I'm not sure. I find I am more interested in persistent universes (i.e. Fallout, Skyrim, etc) - so I await Destiny to see what they might offer. I'm certain I will buy the next 343i game, and I will be reading the novels as well. See you starside, indeed.
