In Response To: Re: Why i wont be buying HCEA *article* (katancik) : I completely agree. You perfectly wrote everything I was thinking. Times have : changed. Physics engines have changed, gameplay has changed, : user-friendliness has changed, and features have been added. These things : all for the better. The only thing that has been done so far in CEA is : added new graphics. I understand that quite a bit of effort goes into : that, but the game itself doesn't run any new code. It uses Reach's : graphics and CE's physics. All they had to do is retexture, redo some : audio, add some new Easter eggs and call it a day. It seems like a bit of : a lazy effort. If they added theater mode, player investments, and rally : points then they could say "we made the original game added things : you come to expect in the modern-day and made CE feel like a new game : again." But they didn't. : I feel this way about a stand-alone multiplayer. I'm glad they are keeping
You really don't understand how difficult it is to completely upgrade the graphics with an old game engine. It's not as simple as retexturing objects. I really don't like you simplifying it like that. Maybe there isn't a point to Halo: CEA, but for $40, I'm willing to buy it. Hell, I just want to play Co-Op with my buddy on Live. The updated graphics aren't the main selling point for me, but I appreciate and admire the hard work that all the artists at 343i and Saber did. Your opinion is your own, but making a game like this isn't as simple as you make it seem.
