In Response To: Re: Why i wont be buying HCEA *article* (kanbo) : I like that, for years, people have been asking for a CE re-release with only : updated graphics, or for a CE release on Live Arcade with achievements, or : for a return to the way that we used to play CE, and on and on. : And then, we get just what we've been asking for, and now everyone is upset. Actually I haven't been asking for this at all which is what I was trying to explain at the begining of the article, and many people have been asking for very different things. : No one is making you buy the game, and no one cares if you aren't going to
Then who are they making it for? I'm sorry, I thought I was part of the target audience: 18-35, male, disposable income, already has xbox 360 and live, previous acquaintence with the Halo brand. If they're targetting it at just the people who want an online co-op version of halo 1's campaign with shinier graphics and achievements... thats a bit narrow. Sure there is a significant chunk that want another map pack for Reach, but you don't need to tack on a campaign that lacks many of the features of it's comtempories. 7 new, actually they're all recycled so they definitely aren't worth as much as new ones, maps for reach: 1500ms points maybe? What's that? $17 or something? Where are the other $23 from? Halo CE on XBLM is 1200msp, and with that you get the original multiplayer experience and ALL of it's maps as well. We can try and fudge some further numbers to estimate it's value but it still seems like we're getting overcharged for something that doesn't add any compelling features (for me). Even more so in the UK ($56!!) Still, I might pick this up when it's second hand and £10 or something.
