In Response To: Achievements are Evolving and Do you own a 360? (3Suns) : I think that the questions regarding Achievements are all coming from those who don't own a 360 yet... Certainly true in my case I admit; I've never been on Live and I don't know about this Gamerscore business and whether I might find aspects of it enjoyable. But when you start reminiscing fondly about how achievements were "the only thing that drove arcade video games for the first 20 years of their existence", that's not too encouraging to me, because I'd personally like to get well away from that sort of of old-skool stuff. The old games may not have had the technology and maturity to attract players with "their story, graphics, or open-endedness", but nowadays they can, and that's more the sort of thing I want. : the fun Achievements are those that require creativity or extensive exploration on the part of the gamer. That sounds ok; I guess some achievements may be fun even to the likes of me if they're designed well and don't impinge into 'serious' gameplay.
