I think that maybe the Forerunner manipulated elements to come up with a metallic element with a crazy-high proton/neutron/electron count, which would be really unstable, and somehow, they used science (so advanced that the only technical term for it is "magic") to put this in the weapons to discharge at will. [Hey, they had a photon bridge strong enough to support a fully-loaded Warthog. It's possible.] |
