Nobody was really complaining that the graphics weren't modern enough. Just that things in general, not even mainly the graphics, just weren't good enough, even for the tech level they were at. The shock staff was a pixelated mess with a horrible CLUT, the havok rifle was just a big grey blob, the wave motion cannon was a flattened shoe. mostly because those were weapons i scavenged or hacked together as placeholders until the real ones got made. which just never happened, so we had to make due. until tacticus saved the day.

most people actually seem to think that the hires texture recreations I spent most of the year making were superfluous because ultra hd textures are not the thing that's going to make eternal not suck.

i'm hoping that the fixed lighting bug and the new ch5 monsters and the totally rebalanced combat there, plus whatever improvements i can manage to make myself in the levels before there, will make it not suck.
