I'd love for Aleph to have Inio and Mark's changes added in, but they both had the same problems. Neither of them kept their edits up to date with the main A0 development, so their patches were against versions several months old and it was an impossible task to keep them up. I added what I could easily get in (purging unused OpenGL textures from Inio; external sounds and tutorial levels have been added from Mark), but the rest needed much more time than I could give them. Their other problem was being developed entirely against Carbon with no attention paid to SDL, and the SDL port is just as important (if not even more) to Aleph. If someone wanted to add more stuff to Aleph and could provide a working patch against the latest CVS, I'd happily add it. If you asked you'd probably even get your own branch in CVS to work on it. |
