That's assuming this new game follows on from an/the Infinity timeline, for which I'm not aware of any specific evidence so far. It's possible. On the other hand, when your marching orders from Sony are to chase the industry's current bandwagon du jour and you're grabbing a dormant IP off the shelf, M2's timeline is far easier to crib from. I gather Bungie has said something about it not being a direct sequel, for whatever that might be worth.

Why yes, the gameplay-free trailer and content-free vidoc have left me feeling rather cynical, why do you ask?
