Interesting, I've never really spent any time on the Pfhorums, so I can't speak to that, but I will say that the format of the Story page appeals to me more than most other forums I have visited. The same goes for HBO, I suppose, though I haven't hung around there in years. But the Story page is simple and attractive, with an appearance that always tells me that I'm here to talk about Marathon. And I like the lack of rankings, and have personally little interest in avatars.
Of course, the fact that this is a fairly small and older community probably helps keep things under control.
