Yeah the with France is that its trying to cling to power that it lost soooooo long ago. But Germany has the possibility of becoming a super power. God help us if it does, because a super power whos leaders run for power on the Anti-American ticket can't be a good thing. Theres a difference between disagreeing and being out right anti-american, which the current german presdient/chancellor, i forget which title they use, is along with the majority of the population at the moment. As for France deciding things, its not actually france, its the European Commision (EC) thats writing up this constitution, and its headed by a former french presidnet....so one guess which countrys interests the EC has at heart. Also the French want a United States of Europe in the very near future. They see Europe as being the only real way to get france back some power, and they want to set it against the US. However at the moment there are 15 States in the European Union. Within the EU there is a majority of countrys that prefer france to america. However thats very slight if im remembering correctly its by like 1 or 2. Over the next year or so, the number of EU states will increase to 25 as 10 eastern european countries will join, and they have been taking the side of America over such recent events as the conflict in iraq. They tend to lean more towards the americans and british rather than the French and German positions. So then the majority of the EU will be American friendly, leaving france in a slight pickle. In the recent EU meetings where leaders of the 15 states and the leaders of those 10 countrys soon to be accepted, the french havent got on very well with the new 10 members. Infact President Chirac, after a meeting where those 10 states disagreed with france over iraq, said 'They missed a good oppurtunity to shut up'. Showing that France doesnt see these states as equals but merely pawns they can tell what to do and think. And with these new members having only had true freedom for no more than 20 or so years, they are not willing to give it up to the french. So now france are threatening not to allow these new 10 states into the EU. This goes to show that france is power hungry and can not be trusted. And lets not forget the fact that they are anti-semitic (im sure i've spelt that wrong). So id like to take the time now to say...France truly does suck and should never ever be trusted!!! |
