In Response To: Re: New Halo 2 preview. (Clefton Twain)
: I hope Bungie didn't spoil any surprises. I kind of wish I was in the dark
: and didn't even know about Halo 2. I came into Halo by surprise, not
: having heard of it before and not really wanting an Xbox that badly. So
: everything I did in Halo was a surprise. I hope I can recapture that
: feeling in Halo 2.

The brutes aren't part of the covenant; I hope it's ok to quote the edge article but they said "And just as the flood delivered a shock to the system in Halo, Bungie is to introduce one completely new alien race to provide those three-way battles that epitomised the excellence of the first game. Tentatively labeled Brutes, this new breed of foe is likely to offer another layer of depth and variety to the experience." I'm sure Bungie hasn't said too much too soon though. I have a feeling something's going to happen that nobody expects. Also, someone started a forum before titled "too much too soon?" and Matt had hysterical laughter as his response. I don't think that what bungie revealed is going to be the shock in Halo, I think something else is going to happen. It also said in the article that bungie was thinking about halo 2 through the development of halo and everything was there for a reason, from the structure of halo to the names of covenant ships. And people will be able to replay halo and see all of the clues they didn't see before or something like that. So it seems to me that there will definitely be the surprise factor in Halo 2.
Also, I read the article on the site and I found this hilarious - I know it probably won't seem that funny to you but this is a quote from the preview:
"...The Master Chief and the Cortana take centre stage once again..."
Just my thoughts, sorry it was long.
