Maybe the scoop mite not be as powerfull, but to me it all seems to be random luck when it comes to how far you go. I did not jump when it has happened to me. About the vehicles, you drive on ontop 1st, then the 2nd player, standing next to the tank presses x as soon as your are ontop, works better with ghost.
