If you manage to flip over a tank during multiplayer, try to budge the tank towards an area where there is something that is out of reach where you want to go (ie the top of Sidewinder, top of Blood Gluch, etc). Hop on top of the tank and go towards the end where the tank is at it's highest point (the best position is, once you get it flipped, to have it end to end, with the turret against the ground perfectly so the tank almost looks like a see saw).
The screen still should say "Press X to flip Scorpion". So once you are at the highest point you can go at the tank, look down. Press A, and right after you hit A hit X. This will send you flying at an enormous height, i've reached hangtimes of around 10 seconds. Of course you die, but if you can perfectly angle your launch, you should be able to get on top of the map or somewhere else. I've done this a couple times, basically accomplished nothing besides one hell of a view of Sidewinder, but i never thought about using it to get to the top of the map. It's fun as hell though to be launched, and even funnier to see someone flying through the air like superchief :).
