1) A rolling jackal almost by definition isn't protected properly by its sheild.
2) Running circles (literally!) around to flank 'em is handy.
3) I played UT today. Wimpy pistols suck. I want my M6D back.
4) If I don't have, say, Hunters or Elites causing me problems, a quick rush at the jackals and a melee attack'll either kill them or lay 'em open to some nice rounds... AR is excellent for this job.
5) If you pound on the little bastards' shields, they'll either lose them or hide behind them for dear life long enough for you do do your evil, evil deeds.

Hunters are scaaaaary. They're not as scary gameplay-wise as they once were, but... they're scaaaaary.

Oh yeah, and -- a pistol clip is usually enough for an Elite. If you take care to pop him in the head once his shields are down, of course... they take lots of body hits.
