In Response To: Re: How bout' Jackals? (scorpion) I'm finding the M6D Pistol to be one of the most deadly and effective weapons in the entire game, really. I always grab one as soon as I can find it. Knocking down hunters with it is trivial. Simply run up to a hunter and let him take a swipe at you with his big shield. On the upstroke, he will leave his unarmored midsection entirely exposed. One shot and he's dead. You don't even have to sidestep to get to his back. The Flood go down fairly quickly with it, too. It only takes a few shots of the high-explosive .50 cal rounds to drop the big ones whereas the Assault Rifle and its puny 7.62mm ammo is all but useless against them. With grunts, well, one in the head, and you know he's dead. No shielding or amoring at all, and it only take a couple of shots in the body to drop 'em. Jackals are a bit tougher, but if you can land a shot on their hand while zoomed, they will go reeling and open themselves up to a full volley. Grenades are quite useful against them as well. Toss a plasma or frag in their direction, and then keep them busy with some sporadic fire on their shield just long enough for the fuse to run down. Boom. You just gave a Jackal his first and last flying lesson. The only enemy the M6D is not very effective against would be the Covenant Elite units. By the time you drop their shielding, you've probably exausted your entire clip and have to pause to relaod. This gives them more than enough time to find cover and bring their shields back up to strength. I would suggest packing an energy weapon to deal with them. The plasma rifle at close range works quite well. |
