The Forerunners were super advanced, but they weren't smart enough to invent the ultimate Flood killin' weapon (shotguns)? Master Chief was never infected, even though his armor/weapons weren't of the right containment protocols. I have to believe that the Foreunners were advanced enough to build containment suits at least as strong as MC's suit that could have protected them from the Flood, and then waded out into 'em with shotguns blazing.

Sorry, but it's not really hangin' together for me here... I have to make the "plothole" call here and jes' move on.
