All I remember from Shutdown and Midnight was the fun Broadsword sequence and the teriible gunfights. Otherwise, I have no desire to reminisce on the game between Halsey's interview and Didact's dramatic schoolyboy bitch monologue. Its really a multi-million dollar fan fiction project in every sense of the world. Not expecting Halo 5 to cure its predecessor's ailments and that's why I have no excitement or even curiosity about what comes next.
