As interesting as Hard Light is as a technology, I'm right at the point of ignoring it until someone has it make sense. Because right now, as you just illustrated, it kinda doesn't, and this is on top of 343's apparent inability to type the word "Forerunner" without interjecting "Hard Light" somewhere in the same sentence.
