Neither do I. I thought it went without saying that most players would benefit from a drastic Forge overhaul (assuming player-created maps will have a place in the greater online experience, which history suggests is likely). It's not like I'm the only player who would use it.

No, just if they were concerned with significantly improving Forge, not only to my benefit but to the benefit of the player population at large. It appears that they weren't and thought more players would dig a live action webseries instead. Maybe that is actually the case, but it appears this is at least just as much about marketing to expand the audience as it is showing the existing one something cool. Otherwise they could have put the story in a novel or a comic.

I wasn't trying to indicate that my life somehow comes to a halt or that I won't buy the game because Halo 4 isn't exactly what I wanted. If it were, I would have said something like 'Pre-order cancelled.'

I think my phrasing was fine. I'm not gonna feign an apologetic tone if other people are excited about FUD and the very minor improvements to Forge revealed thus far. The things some people see as great barely passes as good enough for others - but so what? Yeah, I get that they're not making the game only for me, but my experience with it is the only one I can have, so I'm expressing how I think my experience will be affected by these developments.
