I personally don't care too much one way or the other. I enjoy watching Single Segment runs, Segmented runs, and Tool Assisted Runs. Maybe I am in the minority, but I watch speedruns to be entertained rather than to appreciate the skill.

I really only MAKE single segment runs, because as an activity that appeals to me more. You are right - it's not that interesting for me to play a small segment over and over again until it's perfect. It's much more interesting to try to get good enough to play the whole thing. Getting in the zone is really awesome.

So while I find MAKING segmented runs uninteresting, I find watching them to be just as entertaining as single segment runs. I found his run to be pretty entertaining.

By the way, I will be running a variety of shorter games next year at awesome games done quick, including Ecco the dolphin and possibly Marathon Infinity. Live in one go! To beat cancer!
