I tend to feel like segmenting is "cheating" in that it's optimizing the hell out of things and ignoring very real time in the "fails", as you say, but he's definitely got some sweet execution. The fact that it's segmented just diminishes the really cool parts for me, though--it's the difference between watching a stunt live or taped. Sure, both took a lot of work, but so much more could go wrong when situations aren't controlled.
