In Response To: Re: Shield and Sword - The Broken Chord *long as h (Quirel) : Questions: -Why "Resonance Control"? Any meaning behind the name? I wanted a name to match the stylings of 'Silent Cartographer' - a slightly abstract take on a practical location. The Resonance Control monitors, regulates, and supports the Shield World's communications. That means all of the data resonates, echos, or reverberates in its halls. And any off-world communications must be routed and supplemented through here. When it does, it's 'amplified and enriched' to travel superluminally. ... Like the notes of a chord resonating with each other to create an even more powerful effect. And that's why the level is named Broken Chord - because this station was preventing Cortana from harmonizing with its off-world datastream. Oh, and "Resonance Control" sounds cool. :) : -Something I didn't ask the last time: any ideas on how to prevent Sentinel
I think making them move around a helluva lot makes fighting a sniper more interesting, or at least spawning in different areas. You don't want it to become a trial and error type gameplay like in Halo 2. I was pretty happy with Halo 3's Sniper AI and their slight weakening of shots. You can get shot once and still be hurt enough to make you freak out and run for cover, but not so much that you can't make it to safety and counter attack. Also, these Sentinel Snipers use that Gravity Rifle I spoke of in the last mission. You'll feel yourself start to be slightly pulled towards them before they fire, giving you a slight warning to attack or defend yourself. : Comments: -Forerunner design is much improved. I like it.
Will do! :)
