Heh, The Package's armor designs are honestly one of my least favorite things in all of Halo - no exaggeration. :)

I hope they go with something more visually identifiable for what is likely a Mark IV armor. Take cues from Halo Wars, The Fall of Reach cover, Babysitter and Origins cartoons, and look at Halo Reach's Mark IV/B and Mark IV armors. The Package Mark IV is the odd one out - the only thing it fits with visually is the Mark VI, which is years ahead and a two generations later.

I know there's little blurbs here and there saying the outer appearances are not indicative of the armor's Mark - but there should still be a sense of visual identity, especially with a story as long and complicated as Halo's. There should be a way to look at the visuals and allow yourself to say "oh, that's the early Mark IV and this is like 2530."

A simple example of what I'm talking about: Stromtroopers.

You can see the early Clone Trooper helmet on the right, the helmet a few years later in the middle, and the final result of the Stormtrooper helmet on the left.

Now, this is nice in the sense of stylistic consistency, but FAR more importantly these different marks are cues for the visually-minded audience. When you're reading a Star Wars comic, and you see a trooper, what kind of helmet they're wearing provides you a rough estimate of the story's place in the timeline. You can start to form an idea of who these characters are, what the big events happening around them all, etc. just from the visuals.

And Halo has a complicated timeline - trying to read it all and visually place the events in order in your head can be extremely confusing for the visual person, especially when the Spartans are switching back and forth between different armor designs.
