In Response To: Favorite Halo comic and why. (Postmortem) I'm actually not a big comics guy, oddly enough. I can appreciate them, but I've never felt comfortable buying two comics that will take me about five minutes to read when I can buy a book that will last me all day if I'm lucky. I used to review manga (here I was, thinking it'd be a paying gig and I desperately needed the money) which extends the life of it for a while, but if I'm reading something to review it, I'm not going to appreciate it -- I'm analyzing every detail for something to blather about. That said, I did really appreciate Helljumpers, but that was mostly for the fact that it went into characterization and story than for the art. Honestly, I've never read a Halo comic where I couldn't appreciate the art. Fistfull of Arrows, naturally, has some that I'd love to frame, but that's not why I enjoy it. I enjoy it for the story, and the fact that Leviathan knows better than to cram as much as possible into each page. (I'm not talking about exposition, either. He knows when to pull back and let the scenery talk when others I've seen would cram almost twice as many panels in.) Honestly, though? Stuntmutt takes the cake. I like to laugh, and if a comic focuses on the funny to start with, I hate it when the drama starts. With One One Se7en, the art may not be great, but I get what I came for, and I came for really bad puns.
