In Response To: Favorite Halo comic and why. (Postmortem) : Particularly interested in which visual style people prefer. When it comes to visual style, they look different than most of the other comics I've ever seen while at the same time being totally sweet. The art style supports the story being told. It draws you in and makes you think more about what you're seeing and reading. Now, take Blood Line. I really like it, but the art style seems pretty conventional as far as comics go. I'm no pro as far as comics go, far from it, but I know I've seen this style before even in my limited experience. What gets it for me more, though, is that both of these comics get Halo. In Fistful, look at the scene where the UNSC Cruiser kamikazes into the Covenant Carrier - backs to the wall, no where to go, defeat is all but certain. In Sunrise, the horror of the Covenant finding Earth is palpable, especially in light of the UNSC's deception.
