In Response To: In Halo 3... (Hyokin) : The Ark. If you go inside the Scarab and listen to Truth, he calls the Ark a : "shelter from Halo's fire." : Doesn't that like... completely contridict everything? : Stephen Loftus! HELP!!! :( As was pointed out, he means that it was outside the range of the Halos, so presumably his people could survive. Maybe his big plan all along (remember, in Halo 2 he was a schemer, not a zealot) was to wipe out all life in the galaxy and then repopulate! This makes no sense on a few levels. Most immediately, with Flood on the Ark his plan is sunk; even before that he did nothing to secure his position on the Ark, bringing only a tiny fraction of his fleet; nor are there any signs of any Covenant females, so uh that's a problem. Most of Halo 3 simply plays Truth straight, as if he believes the Great Journey is going to make him a god - yet if he knew he was outside the range of the Halos he was setting himself up for disappointment. Yet if he wasn't planning to become a god through the Great Journey, why is his true plan never revealed? Why come to the epic conclusion of your trilogy and leave it hidden? Man, Halo 3 was a mess.
