In Response To: More Halo discussion from The Escapist (General Vagueness) The UNSC is totalitarian but they did not initiate this war. They did not set out to kill a bunch of multiculturalists. The Covenant are seen as the bad guys because they are engaged in a program of genocide (not generally considered to be a behavior condoned by multiculturalists). So his argument is wrong by 180% Yes a single specis is fighting a multitude of species but that is only because the multitude is trying to extinguish the minority species. The aggression is coming from the Covenant. The blue eyes thing is amusing, the drugs turned Carter into an Aryan. :-) That part of the add is genius but I suspect that nobody at Bungie can take credit as the add was probably MS' baby. Still, he's doing a rant so maybe accuracy or fairness aren't needed. We have discussed the UNSCs totalitarianism and the racial overtones behind the inheritor concepts here at HBO but this wouldn't be known to somebody who takes little interest in Halo.
