I will also add this: Don't you think if there was a "cure," or at least some kind of immunity to the Flood that the Forerunners would have found it during some hundreds of years (forget how many) of research? They tried everything they could right up to the very last second, and it even seems that they left the Sentinels and Monitors to continue such research for the next 100,000 years. "BS Hoax" indeed.
