His armor advanced, but somewhere (presumably when he got infected) he went "off the grid" and is hiding his shame (said infection). His left boot is mix/matched because of being in exile. So... there was a lot of thought put into the artwork. That being said - based on the Halo 3 events, we know that the Flood be gone, and the MC is MIA. Further, his dedication wouldn't permit him to simply abandon the UNSC with spiffy new armor, and any mixing/matching would probably be shit we haven't seen yet rather than old-school Mk V pieces. Anyway - I can appreciate the art and artistry of the piece, enjoyed some of the details (BOOM Headshot), but overall, it just didn't do it for me. YMMV SPSFD (as always) : While the artwork is good, I would have rather them not said it was an older : Master Chief. : I'm guessing by the looks of that arm of his, that he's fighting back a flood : infection? That doesn't really make much sense... but okay. Then there's : the armor. It's kind of piece-meal and the "organic" looking : parts just don't mesh with what I've come to expect from any version of : Mjolnir armor. Even if he were to take on the "field upgrades" : like Noble team, I wouldn't expect the Master Chief to ever look like this : in his armor. : At least they got the helmet right
