Tough crowd? Or realistic reactions to an unfunny trailer for a series that's supposed to be funny?

Personally, I find recommendations like this to be largely misleading. "Keep watching, it gets better. The trailer just sucks." is usually followed by an anime or TV show I'd rather forget. Namely, Code Geass and Tenga Toppen Gurren Lagan.

We'll see if it's actually funny, but should 343i really be spending time on this?

I don't know, man. It's really no funnier than One One Seven at it's worst. It's something the community could do, and do better (Hence the "There's something about Halo" series. And RvB. And Arby an' the Chief)

What I'd like to see 343i do, is I'd like them to give Halo fans amazing, entertaining, and free content that the fans wouldn't be able to produce themselves. Which certainly narrows the field, but it also lets you concentrate resources on good ideas, hein? How about behind the scenes, what-ifs, production insights? You've got holdovers from Bungie, certainly they have stories about what kind of levels were cut from Reach, or what went into making the special content for the Reach limited editions.

And please, don't call us fanatics. We're fans.
Fanatics makes it sound like you believe that... well, the unnamed Halo nerd in that abominable trailer is what we're really like.

I don't know. The stuff I enjoyed from 343i isn't the kind of stuff you could release on Waypoint. I hated Legends, but loved Evolutions. Not much on Waypoint, unless...

Hey, if you could find a couple of engineers who are good with sci-fi and knowledgeable about Halo, why not give us cutaway views of the UNSC Frigates, the Banshees, Ghosts, Wraiths, Warthogs, Scorpions? Like in those Star Wars encyclopedias?

For a technophile like me, stuff like that is candy.
