Maybe explaining Halo would be a bottomless pit of effort. I remember people from Bungie I think doing a game commentary and laughing when they reached the part were, once again, they tried to explain how the Halos worked.
I like things to make sense but is it possible to make the trickier parts of the Halo story make sense? We know why many parts of the story don't make sense. There were the h2 production problems and the problems with trying to inject filler into Halo 3. And there were the ODST production problems that left us fighting Brutes.
It seems doomed to retrofit a story mechanism to explain them.
But the main point I was trying to make was that we cut Bungie a LOT of slack. Why do we do this? Have they only committed small crimes? In what way have they been true to the Halo story?
If we could answer those questions then maybe we could give guidance to 343 Industries. What's OK and what isn't?
