Thank you, Tom. A lot of people seem to think that the whole of anime is long-running shounen fighting or monster battle shows, mahou shoujo shows, or hentai. Having been an anime fan for well over a decade (started getting into it when SciFi ran anime movies on Saturday mornings) with a decent-sized collection of DVDs and manga (plus a lot rented or watched on TV), there is indeed a plethora of genres and art styles. Sure a lot of anime isn't all that great, but there's a lot that is very high-quality in terms of story and art. It's just like any other entertainment media. For every Pokemon or YuGiOh, there's a Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell. And then there's Hayao Miyazaki, who is one of the greatest creative genuises of the last century. Hell, Adult Swim alone runs or has run quite a few serious and good-quality series (aside from CB and GitS) that are definitely worth watching, if you don't mind dubs, that is. That said, Halo Legends has an impressive pedigree. Shinji Aramaki and Mamoru Oshii are heading the project along with Frankie (according to Anime News Network), and animation is being done by Production IG, Studio 4°C, and Bones, among others. If it's anything like The Animatrix or Gotham Knight, it'll be great.
