In Response To: Yeah it is. (X)

: It's proof that many otherwise intelligent folk were led to believe so.
: Bungie never went out of their way to kill myths they knew their trailers
: were spreading.

Speaking of rumor mongering...

Bungie released two trailers. In one, there were three players. In the second, there were about six or seven. Guess what? Pretty much everything in those two trailers is still in the game in one form or another. And six or seven players does not constitute an MMOPG, nor do either of them suggest players using Covenant models (which appears to be a chief complaint of yours).

The MMOPG rumors were formulated in the community and went contrary to the few things Bungie had made public, that Halo was to be a squad/team based action game. There was no need to contradict that rumor, it had already been contradicted.

Your suggestion that a company should go out of its way to tell its game enthusiasts "no", "no", and "no" is ridiculous. And even if Bungie had decided it wanted to spoil any anticipation among its fans, it would have been futile--look how many times Bungie has said "There WILL be a Mac/PC version!", and how many people still show up to ask, or lurk around other forums and believe that it won't happen.

If Halo isn't want you wanted, well, sorry but that's the way the cookie crumbles. But you're setting yourself up for disappointment after disappointment if you think any game will ever ship in the same state that it was announced, or that it will incorporate every widely rumored suggestion offered by the community.

You can't please everyone. But according to the reviews and fan impressions, at least it looks like Halo is pleasing some.
