This was a community wide thing! Even non-gaming press were writing about something with little "said" about it (how 'bout this, if you don't know much about your game don't release movies that give the impression of gameplay- God, I had to deal with Mark Levin on this). You were affect, Nij, I had to try to get rid of your notions of hand signals. Don't tell my Bungie wasn't intentionally starting hype. You can be like every other credible developer out there and release screenshots to show off your engine/models or movies that show actual gameplay... but don't release scripted movies. Cortana Letters are fine, good and fun, even idiotic remarks about wall hugging hippos.... Yeah, it's unrealistic to believe that a company so desperate for hype would then shoot down the theories they helped to generate... gosh, to expect delevopers to simply be truthful, yikes. "Third person was too hard for us so we went for the FPS view." Never, you have to find out in a movie... Nij, they don't @##$ing say ANYTHING... they let their movies do the talking, what do you expect? When they do say something it's always how cool this (ooh a model) or that (ooh driving) is. So it's not like they don't have the time to spell it out. Ah well, whatever. : You said it, man... "myths". Meaning, something that is not true. : Said myths were never confirmed by Bungie; therefore Bungie never said it : was going to happen. : If you're upset that Bungie didn't come around bashing every single rumor : that got started about the game, I can count the number of people here who : give a damn on one hand. The fact is that when those rumors were going : around, much of Halo's gameplay was still undecided; that much, Bungie : confirmed from the very beginning. It's not unreasonable for a software : company to assume that when they say that much of the game's gameplay has : still not been determined, that rumors non-Bungie folks start about it : will be treated as nothing more than exactly what they are. : -Nij
