In Response To: New screenshot observations/question (Darkman) I'm not sure it would still be in the game, but Cortana was originally supposed to be in your suit. So if you have a suit that can hold cortana could it not also project an image of her in your helmet's visor so that she would appear in front of everything else or right in front of your visor(like R2D2). Also you are on the ship before it crashes on the halo where the first level is supposed to take place, so I think that it might be a training level in which it would make sense for Cortana to appear in your helmet (although the halo in the background would make it a little strange).
