(Louis Wu) I misunderstood because most machinima (that I've watched) uses the game as a substitute for real life, so that what's happening in the video isn't meant to be taken as happening in a video game, but within the context of a 'real life' situation. I guess I just way over thought it. Heh, I guess I also should have read his description a little closer (or at all) "The basic premise is a group of eight players whose offline and online misadventures are represented through XBOX Live and matchmaking." Maybe what threw me is that this episode doesn't contain any live action or offline misadventures (unless you count shots of the lobby screen as live action). In Arby n' the Chief, for example, the live action shots make it pretty clear that anything you see in-game is just the game. With this series, everything was in game so it was easy for someone who didn't read the description and who over analyzes everything (and then who over explains his over analysis) to mistake it for following normal machinima conventions. Oh, and you can sort of quit out of the pre-game lobby if you turn your xbox off. It happens to me quite a bit when a particular gametype doesn't get vetoed, folks will leave. Their gamertags just stay grayed out the whole game.
