In Response To: I like it, however... (Spartan Jag) There were some parts (I got to watch it eventually), especially during the sequence on Isolation where Mike is playing Slayer on his own, where the dialogue didn't really feel connected to the scene. It reminded me a lot of the scenes in the movie The Program where Omar Epps is doing a voice over during the game sequences. I think a lot of it has to do with the recording quality (the dubbing). If you can, that'd be something to work on. Because, if I understand what you're trying to do, these folks are actually inhabiting the spartans and elites? Is that right? Is it like any other machinima where the spartans and elites represent people and not just people-controlled virtual avatars (I guess a simpler way to ask that is: are we watching a multiplayer match or a 'real life' situation?) If it's the latter, then the dubbing as it is now really de-immersifies the viewer. It seems more like some dude's recording his thoughts and utterances during a multiplayer session (as if he's reacting to what he sees on the screen, not as if he's there on isolation experiencing it). I could be totally wrong about what you're doing here (I only saw the first half), but if I'm right, I think it'd be helpful to make the audio connect to the action a little better.
