Well, GTAIII, GTA:VC, and GTA:SA — by far the most successful tiles in the series — have been timed Sony exclusives, and they weren't ported to the PC and Xbox until some time later (the Xbox ports of GTAIII & GTA:VC were packaged together at the GTA Double Pack). I'm not sure how big a portion of each title's sales those ports made, but I would assume they'd still be a massive successes even with a 100% Playstation-only prescence, and would probably still be a better per-game average seller than Halo. While it's impossible to tell how successful GTA would be if those games had never been ported, and considering the fact that it took quite a while for them to be ported (and most popular games sell the bulk of their copies within the first several months after release), I doubt their belated transition to multi-platform titles had a significant impact on their total sales.
