Gah! I forgot about GTA. If we count the two GTA games on the PSP and the one on the GBA, that brings their average to over 8 million, which still beats out Halo 3's 7+ million average. But if we count only console releases (since the PSP titles weren't blockbusters, and count as only a tiny portion of the series' sales), GTA beats out Halo even more, with 12+ million copies each on average.
