Not to mention the perceptiveness of a human when compared to a concoction of machines acting as a human. It's much easier to know what's going on and make the right decisions if you're right there, with your own eyes and ears. And I guess sometimes it's worth putting a human life at risk if making the wrong desicion or acting just a little too late could potentially cost even more lives. Actually, I think pretty much nothing could substitute a human soldier, even if the substitute was directly controlled by a human soldier...
