There's a lot of potential for Halo in comics, and I really : hope they can come back and tell some good stories in there. Nylund has : been writing a Battlestar Galactica comic for a while, and he's already : the Halo novel master, so I can't imagine a better person to do more : stories set in the Halo universe in comic form. I don't get how the immediate assumption is that Bungie dropped the ball. Marvel has built a reputation of messing up tie-in comics lately (see: Uprising comics delayed for months and months). And the Halo Graphic Novel was incredible. I think the ball was just dropped by Marvel. In Uprising, my problem was with the weak dialogue and the terrible flow- *mini spoilers* see arguments about the patrons of a high-end hotel being mad when the concierge can't point them to a weapon cache, or a pop star (were the tattoos and crap necessary?) grabbing a gun off a Marine she just saw die like it was second nature. Then Chief takes a whole row of Hunter blasts to the chest when a single one kicks his ass in both the game and novels. And so on. None of that seems like anything Bungie did. It just wasn't a good comic, IMHO. And with all the delays and such mounting, it's clear I won't be getting the comic at this point. And unless things pick up, I won't even be getting the collection. It's just... not good.
