I think you are giving MS more credit than they deserve. I think MS has very little awareness of the 3rd party mod community (I dare say they could care less). MS was simply looking for amazing eye-candy products to launch their console, and got a real bargain in the process with acquiring Bungie. However, they won't see this (or get it) until later. If they're smart, they'll recognize this, reward Bungie for bringing value, and in turn, Bungie will create bigger and better games.
